A few tips


keep the length down. A page will usually get out what you want to say
If you're asking for an autograph, include a self-addressed, stamped envelope. If you're requesting an autograph on a photo, it's a good idea to send your own, at least include an SASE large enough to hold an 8" by 10" headshot.
Don't worry if you don't receive an immediate response, or any response at all, the actor you're writing is probably busy and doesn't have a lot of time for fan mail at the moment, and it can take awhile for fan letters to get through. Be patient.
